“The Fundamentals—A Testimony to the Truth, Vol. 1: “Chapter 5: Holy Scripture and Modern Negations” by Prof. James Orr of United Free Church College, Glasgow, Scotland: Prof Orr believes three things are in order: a better approach to the structure of the Bible, belief in supernatural revelation, and God’s sovereign abilities. “The Fundamentals—A Testimony to the Truth, Vol. 2:” in “Chapter 2: Inspiration,” Rev. L. W. Munhall cites Justin and Irenaeus on inspiration, citing the classic view—we’d say Cranmerian or Calvin’s views as classics, amongst dozens of others. “The Fundamentals—A Testimony to the Truth, Vol. 3: “Chapter 2: Paul’s Testimony to the Doctrine of Sin,” Professor Charles B. Williams (Southwestern Baptist Seminary, Fort Worth, TX): the Professor discusses the Final Judgment. “The Fundamentals—A Testimony to the Truth, Vol. 4:” “Chapter 3: The Wisdom of the World,” Dr. A. W. Pitzer notes that it’s hubris to say God can’t intervene or that man’s mind is the measure of what God can or can’t do. “Theologians You Should Know: Apostolic Fathers to the 21st Century,” Dr. Michael Reeves discusses Athanasius’s view of Antony. He fears that he’s too anti-materialistic and that a strong doctrine of creation precludes anti-sexuality and monastic abstinence. Princeton Theological Review (Vol.22, No.1, Spring 2007): in “Penal Substitution in Romans 3:25-26?,” Jarvis J. Williams—wait for it—will defend penal, substitutionary atonement. If a solid article, this will be make 3 in a row, something that is unusual for PTR.
