God, Revelation, Education and David Payne:” Dr. Christopher Sarver discusses Benjamin Elijah May, a black Churchman trained in the Divinity School of the University of Chicago—Shirley Jackson Case, Henry Wieman and that crew. Rauchenbaruch and Fosdick affect Mays’ theology of the African view of God. Anglican Theological Review (May 2022): in “An Anglican Ethic for a COVID-19 Pandemic,” Dr. Christopher Jones thinks there is an Anglican strategy, moral framework, set of principles and method of public discourse. Anglican Theological Review (Aug 2022): “Editors Introduction:” this edition is dedicated to historical retrieval on Archbishop Tutu. Tutu is taking on the white apartheid regime conscious of St. Paul’s dictum, “If the Lord be for us, who can be against us?” Trinity Journal (TEDS, Spring 2022): in “Biography and Historical Reliability in the Gospel of John,” Dr. Te-Li Lau, NT Prof. at TEDS, discusses “biography” for Plutarch and Suetonius. Anglican and Episcopal History (Aug 2022): in “Black Radicalism in the Episcopal Church: Absalom Jones and Slave Resistance, 1746-1818), Dr. D.A. Dunkley comments on the belief-system of the Free African Society. Jones aligned with the Episcopalians as white elites, thinking this the best way to deal with systemic racism. This over the Methodist or Quakers. Historiography (Summer 2022): comments that the Archival Society, due to passed resolutions at the GC, makes Mike Curry the head of the Archival Society. The historic independence and wide latitude is gone. Table Talk (September 2022): “Exodus 22:” comments on Israel’s rite of betrothal, marriage, fornication, adultery, bestiality and homosexuality—the sins of sex. Table Talk (Oct 2022): “Lost Virtues: Diligence:” Dr. Jason Allen comments on the recovery of industry and diligence in the Reformation due to the stress on work and divine vocation—one’s calling and to do things to His glory. Standard Bearer (September 1, 2022): in “Pertaining to the churches in common—Sister-state churches: British Reformed Fellowship Conference:” an overview of a worldwide convocation of PRC churches convened in Northern Ireland in summer 2022. Standard Bearer (September 15,2022): in “Moon,” Rev. Holstege comments on the moon, its history and function in the Bible. Very nice and very clear. Bibliotheca Sacra (Jan-Mar 2021): in “Suicide and the Thief in John 10.10,” Dr. James Wisland comments on the use of the word “kleptns” in Homer’s Illiad.
