Theories of inspiration (Dr. Erickson’s terms)—intuition (left-wing Germanic dogmatism), illumination (degree not kind, heightened insights), dynamic (Barthian?), verbal (Dr. Packer) and dictationists (although he doesn’t mention it, Tridentists, and some claim Calvin, e.g. commentary on 2 Tim.3. 16). Method of formulating a theory of inspiration—didactic material controls the phenomena, we are told by the Doctor. The extent of inspiration—in the whole, degrees or in part?
