Bishop Gilbert Burnet: The History of the Reformation, 4.89ff.

A letter is sent by Cardinal Wolsey to ambassadors in Rome—Steven Gardiner, Francis Brian, Sir Gregory Cassalis and Peter Vannes. It is dated 6 Apr 1529. It is bloated, verbose and dilly-dallies on the point of the King’s marriage. Wolsey understands that the Pope is giving to much of an ear to Charles V. In the lengthy circumlocutions, there are hints of a break and alienation of the English Church from Rome. Several letters in March and April catch up to Cardinal Windbag Wolsey and he responds with a second letter. UPSHOT: Clement is inclining and leaning to the big Ego in Spain, Charles V, but France, the Venetians, and maybe England will confederate to check Charles V. Henry knows all this and so do Clement. Wolsey goes on and on and on. He’s clearly intimating to the English ambassadors in Rome—which includes Wily Winchester—that Henry may pull out of Rome and also that the same idea is in Francis 1’s head. Another Avignon Papacy situation?
