1.     CHAPTER III. THE ROMAN LITURGY, 64-105. Sacramentaries: Ambrose’s (4^th century), Leo’s (5^th), Galasius’s (5^th) and Gregory’s (late 6^th century). There is uncertainty about the Roman Liturgy until the ninth century—held in the Vatican library. The earlier sacramentaries were revised by Gregory the Great although it only gradually replaced the earlier sacramentaries. Amazing—some very distinct phrases which appear in Dr. Cranmer’s BCP. Gregory’s book has invocation of saints with their commemoration.
