ISAIAH-ALERT AGAIN.

LECTIONS. John Calvin on the Psalms. Keil & Delitzsch: Joshua. Matthew Henry: Isaiah. Jamieson, Fausset & Brown: Gospels. Matthew Henry: Revelation. Dr. Robert Reymond: Systematic Theology. Prof. Berkhof, Systematic Theology: Soteriology. Dr. Philip Schaff, Apostolic Christianity, Medieval Christianity and Swiss Reformation. Dr. Philip Schaff: Creeds. Westminster Larger Catechism, .

For Psalm 10, Prof. Calvin from this morning are still ringing in the ears. God’s timing in justice is addressed.

For Joshua 10, Prof. Keil notes that Joshua prays for the sun and moon to stand still while the Gibeonites, new inhabitants presumably after the original ones were subjugated,

For Isaiah 1.21-31, Prof. Henry—SCARY STUFF--outliness some real terror for those reading this book closely. Whew! Bringing idols into the Church. Oh my! And God’s got the muscle to make good on His disgust.

For the Introduction to the Gospels, Prof. Jamiesson continues his outline on the uncial and cursive manuscripts.

For Revelation 5, Prof. Henry again presents the exalted Savior with all in heaven exclaiming the Divine Worth of the Redeemer before Whom all bow.

For Bibliology, Prof. Reymond comments on textual criticism, the autographa and apographa.

For Soteriology, Prof. Berkhof discusses for errors on the unio mystica: rationalism, mysticism, Socinians and Arminians, Sacramentarians like Rome and some Episcopalians (ex opera operato boys(.

For Apostolic Christianity, Mr. Schaff notes the NT as the foundational documents for the church.

For Medieval Christianity, Mr. Schaff comments on St. Patrick, the son of a deacon, and grandson of a Presbyter, never noting any irregularities about clerical marriage. He also notes that Patrick was shaped essentially without Gregorian influences.

For the Swiss Reformation, Mr. Schaff ends his tour on Glarus, promising to deal with St. Gall shortly.

For the Creeds, Mr. Schaff gives the background-backdrop on the history of scooting the Athanasian Creed sideways, underneath, and emerging somehow. Is it ever used?

For the WLC, 39-43. If Hooker liked his “reason,” he’ll get boatloads here.
