Theological Journals, Part 2: 12/7/2022
National Catholic Register (Nov 2022): in “Cardinal Dolan: ‘Respect for Marriage’ Bill Undermines Religious Liberty.” Good to hear Cardinal Dolan call out the dangers of the pansexualist tyrants and anti-Christs.
Anglican Theological Review (May 2022): : in “Reforming Tradition: Anglican Spirited Continuity,” Dr. Ross Kane is talking about how Anglicanism and traditions have been reshaped in the 20th century in Southern Cone and elsewhere. While he drones onwards, helpfully in terms of historical developments, he rather missed the confessional dimension. It’s blatant.
Anglican Theological Review (Aug 2022): “`Love is our Lord’s Meaning:’ Spiritual Formation in Julian of Norwich and Desmond Tutu,” Frank England is still wandering around in Julian’s mysticisms between her ears. One wonders if it might have been different if she was schooled in the Bible. Of note, she accepts the fall and noetic consequence, but the will is free of those. Sorta like Aquinas. Does she just get to make it up?
Anglican and Episcopal History (Aug 2022): in in “Huguenot Anglican in Seventeenth Century Virginia,” Rev. Lonnie Lee explores the solution of the Bishop of London for bi-lingual French Huguenots in Virginia—use the BCP for English congregation with English sermons and French services as done in English-French contexts. That is, bilingual Huguenot clergy could serve Anglican and Huguenot congregations.
