Bishop Gilbert Burnet: "The History of the Reformation," 4.80ff.

A letter is sent by Cardinal Wolsey to ambassadors in Rome—Steven Gardiner, Francis Brian, Sir Gregory Cassalis and Peter Vannes. It is dated 6 Apr 1529. It is bloated, verbose and dilly-dallies on the point of the King’s marriage. The total nothing-burger and long-winded letter continues. Of note, Mr. Campegio, whom some call Cardinal, is lurking around in the London-area and that failed Black Friars' debacle in near. Rightly, Wolsey's career path will be stunted and ended. He ain't the best writer.
