LAW AND GOSPEL. Rev. Dr. Andy Underhile (EARCC) & Rev. Donald Veitch (WCF-BCP-TFU). We discuss LAW AND GOSPEL, leadership, 2Kism, R2Kism, Nathan and David (God’s Word to a King and God over all earthly kings), God’s supreme Word over all (all Churches, leaders, Bishops, Presbyters, Deacons, laity, Presidents, Congressmen, Justices and all governments under King Jesus...His Crown and His Sword), What does Law and Gospel look like today? Is Caesar Lord or Jesus? When must we lawfully disobey Caesar? How does it apply widely or is the Bible a message for the Church only? Does the Church not address all outside its walls? What about church and state? Natural law? God’s law? We already know that the mainline and its seminaries are severely broken, are saltless, and follow the Zeitgeist. We know that academic Ivy League schools will not allow SHINING THE LIGHT AND GOSPEL in its science, humanities or arts courses. Inquiring minds are asking. BTW, an illustration from Andy gets at it in his instruction to his young Lad—John the Baptist the Churchman rebuking one of the Herod’s for his 7th commandment violation, followed by the lawless violation of the 6th commandment (and others vis a vis James 2.10). We’re finding that people are really afraid of our hard questions and are resorting to back-channeling, back-chattering and more. Some fear out there. Oh well. We're in the Church Militant not Church Cowering. We pray and cultivate the habits of the mind, the habits of the heart and habits of the body. Augustine’s City of God also helps. FOR SAILORS, MARINES, SOLIDERS AND AIRMEN. WE NEVER FORGET. We pray for them. We teach them, as able. We speak directly like Bishop "Old Hugh" Latimer. They decide. We do not give faith, repentance, justification, adoption, sanctification, strength and other things. Those things are GOD'S OFFICES. We speak, they decide. Let us pray: For Youth, and Institutions of Learning ALMIGHTY God, the Author of all being, our only true Guide and Protector; Visit with thy blessing, we pray thee, our church schools and institutions of learning. Inspire the teachers with a proper sense of their solemn duties, and with grace and strength to fulfil them. May our youth be trained up in thy nurture and admonition. Implant in their hearts that fear of the Lord which is the beginning of wisdom, and that faith which worketh by love and overcometh the world. Fill their memories with the words of thy Law. Open their understandings to the truth, as it is in Jesus; so that, made wise unto salvation, they may escape the pollutions of error and sin, and become strong in thy hands for the maintenance of pure and undefiled religion among men. Grant this, for the sake of Jesus Christ thy Son, our Saviour. Amen.
