INTERVIEW: Rev. Aaron Long (UECNA) & Rev. Donald Veitch (WCF-BCP-TFU)

REV. AARON LONG (UNITED EPISCOPAL CHURCH OF NORTH AMERICA). Aaron and I spoke of leadership in the churches. We both have different backgrounds. Aaron uses the brave phrase of “absence of testicular courage.” I chose the term “theological eunuchs.” Or, Jesus’s terms of “Saltless Salt” or “hiding the light under the bushel. Some rough military humor was used at times. But examples came to mind that arose in several instances this very week. Weak men. Hiding their light. Refusing to fight. Capsizing on some issues. Folding. Examples given. We spoke of nihilism, Nietzsche, relativism and the fear of the face of men. This led to a discussion of "leadership," notably, clergymen with “fear.” WO was briefly addressed. This naturally introduced the 3rd, 5th, 6th 7th, 8th and 9th commandments of the Ten Commandments. We touched on one element yesterday with Bishop Malcolm and the excision of the doctrine of original sin and confession of sin in England, e.g., the Archbishop of York on sodomites and homosexual marriages. No one in collars wish to go there, original sin and actual sins. This theme—leadership--requires further explanations and discussions which we will continue in the future. What of modern leadership in the pulpits in days of nihilism, darkness, narcissism, and post-modernism? This is a start, not an end. Aaron and I are combat veterans and are not afraid. We’ve been on the frontlines, not hiding, but researching, thinking, and reading. We’re not snowflakes needing safe space. We’ve been hit and hit often and hit hard, but being in the Church Militant (not Church Impotent or Church Somnolent), we strategize to hit Satan’s kingdom and strategize to advance King-Redeemer Jesus’s kingdom. We think of the courage and speech of Moses, Isaiah, Amos, Jeremiah, Daniel, Nehemiah, John the Baptist and Jesus Himself. We’re thinking also of 2Kish, ACNA, and weaker Confessionalists on the Reformed side. We’ll be reworking the theme of leadership, courage, speech and stepping out from the “excellent sheep.” Prayer for our thoughts and listeners.

We continue to pray for Sailors, Marines, Airmen, and Soldiers, that they may hear Biblical truth by Godly and Bible-driven leaders. Thinking of many here, but one in particular right now.
