INTERVIEW: Rev. David Ould (Anglican Church of Sydney Australia) & Rev. ...

REV. DAVID OULD (ANGLICAN CHURCH OF AUSTRALIA-DIOCESE OF SYDNEY & I discussed numerous things. His background coming from Sheffield, UK and move to Australia. The context of the Australian church was discussed—a different ethos, but clearly a “39 Articles man.” We touched high, low, and evangelical Churchmanship. GAFCON was briefly addressed. Of note, we discussed the doctrine of Scripture as controlling the environment. As a moderate joke, it was noted that Jesus likely didn’t wear a miter or chasuble at the Lord’s Supper. We discussed Rev. Ould’s rigorous 4 years of academic and pastoral theology at Moore College, Sydney. Notably, rigorous training in the original languages. While not noted in this discussion, we would add that TEC schools do NOT require original languages—Moore College does require that. Also, the issue was noted: the developing conflict in the Australia’s HOB over homosexual marriages (an apparent stand-off and split), yet, in a contrast, a tremendous support at the Synodical and parish level for the Biblical and historic view of marriage. That issue is in development and eyes are on that matter. We would love to interview the Rev. Dr. Lee Gatiss on recent CoE moves with ABC Welby. For this discussion, it was another instance of two brothers in Christ sharing in the communion of saints, justified by Christ, and speaking with joy and enjoying God as redeemed sinners.

As usual, following our discussion with Rev. Ould, as is done in all other interview, this old Fella can’t forget his fellow vets.

FOR SAILORS, MARINES, SOLIDERS AND AIRMEN. WE NEVER FORGET. We pray for them. We teach them, as able. We speak directly like Bishop "Old Hugh" Latimer. They decide. We do not give faith, repentance, justification, adoption, sanctification, strength, and other things. Those things are GOD'S OFFICES. We speak, they decide. Let us pray:

For Youth, and Institutions of Learning

ALMIGHTY God, the Author of all being, our only true Guide and Protector; Visit with thy blessing, we pray thee, our church schools and institutions of learning. Inspire the teachers with a proper sense of their solemn duties, and with grace and strength to fulfil them. May our youth be trained up in thy nurture and admonition. Implant in their hearts that fear of the Lord which is the beginning of wisdom, and that faith which worketh by love and overcometh the world. Fill their memories with the words of thy Law. Open their understandings to the truth, as it is in Jesus; so that, made wise unto salvation, they may escape the pollutions of error and sin, and become strong in thy hands for the maintenance of pure and undefiled religion among men. Grant this, for the sake of Jesus Christ thy Son, our Saviour. Amen.
