April 1533 A.D. CANTERBURY & WESTMINSTER: “Operation
Presto!” Henry’s marriage to Anne declared “valid”
5 days before 28
Apr 1533 on 23 Apr 1553, Dr. Cranmer declared the marriage between Henry VIII and
Catherine of Aragon was “null.” Objective 1 in Operation Presto accomplished.
Presto! 5 days later, 28 Apr 1533, Dr. Cranmer pronounced Henry’s marriage to Anne Boleyn
“valid.” (Henry and Anne had previously been wed c. 25 Jan 1533.). All this was a foregone conclusion and Cranmer was
Henry’s willing tool. Objective 2 in Operation Presto achieved.
Dr. Cranmer had been installed as Canterbury 30 Mar 1533. Per the above, he was in action.
Operation Presto! 23 days after Dr. Cranmer’s
installation, Catherine’s out, and only 28 days after his installation, Anne’s
in. High-speed operations. The operation might have been named Operation
Switcheroo.
And presto again! 1 Jun 1533, a mere 62 days after Dr. Cranmer’s installation, he’s
leading a coronation service at Westminster Abbey for a very pregnant Anne
Boleyn (6 months). Objective 3 in Operation Presto completed.
Mission accomplished.
