Prof. Bruggemann introduces Prof. Brevard Childs and the latter's interest in a "canonical reading" of the OT over the "destructive" (our word) vandalism and dominance of concern with the pre-history of the text, e.g. the "deviant dissectionists" (Dr. Archer's term) for the Graf-Wellhausen hegemonists and elitists.
