Dr. Friedrick Delitzsch: Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon (#1), 1ff.

Parallelisms are discussed as well as the "sections" of Proverbs, including, interestingly, the collection of Solomonic proverbs brought in during the days of Hezekiah (and Isaiah?).

Kings tells us that Solomon authored 3000 proverbs while the "Proverbs of Solomon" have 800 proverbs. What was in the library and scriptorium at Jerusalem? What of the prophets, priests and scribes from Solomon to Hezekiah? What are they doing during Manasseh's reign? Inquiring minds are thinking.
