INTERVIEW: Rev. Dr. Mark Winder (Ex-REC/OPC) & Rev. Donald Philip Veitch...

CRANMER THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY (STOLEN IDENTITY, AGAIN) The Rev. Dr. Mark Winder (Ex-REC/now OPC) has discussed factual misrepresentations on the library, accreditation and the historical foundations of the REC (historic name). Also, he described a course on St. Mary and the saints which was more about the Cult of Mary without definition as historical retrieval or REC doctrine. The scholarship of some Professors was wanting. Bishop Sutton was teaching baptismal regeneration and baptismal justification. They were given large guidance for reservation of the elements at Holy Communion, preparation of the elements and surrounding pieties, including bowings to the Cross and the necessity of candles. Dr. Winder stressed his initial excitement to study at CTH initially, but 1 year was enough. False witness against Dr. Winder was by Bishop Sutton and Dr. Crenshaw, accompanied by threats, intimidated him as a 30-something looking to a future in the REC. “Huff and bluff” was the game. Of note, several times, nearly everyone at the school was unhappy. Instead of reading 2000 pages for a graduate course (as is usual) as an accompaniment to a main text, 200 pages were used. Also, the sacrament of penance became necessary for Holy Communion. There was emphasis on uniting with the Tractarian, Anglican Province in America. (We’d add that we hope to interview several APA Rectors as part of due process, discovery, due diligence and fact finding.) The emphasis was heavy on preparation for the Eucharist with accoutrements befitting the APA and the Reformulated Episcopal Church. Most students kept silence for fear of undue rigor and abusiveness if differences were expressed. Dr. Winder noted that when he read the Oxford Tracts he saw that that was being taught Oxfordianism at CTH (again, identity theft in using Dr. Cranmer's name). Dr. Winder endeavored fully to be factual and accurate, recognizing that 23 years had passed since he decided he could not serve in the Reformulated or Roman Episcopal Church. He feared that if he spoke up, he would have no future in a micro-denomination. We are thankful that the record is being restored and facts, truth, and honor are being sought. Dr. Winder went on to finish his MDiv at Reformed Theological Seminary and his DMin from a school we didn’t quite catch. Dr. Winder’s gifts, his skills, his effort at honest speaking, plain speaking, and other gifts are honored here. Plain-talker and stable men, not double-minded men who are unstable in all their ways. A military salute to Dr. Winder. We know of no instance of repentance for the noted sins against God and neighbor. There is room for censures and retention of forgiveness for the reclamation of sinners, offending brethren, for the deterrence of others to participation in like offenses, for purging out these abuses and doctrinal deviances, and for the vindication of the honor and glory of Jesus Christ. Of note, this is an American Anglican problem and it will NOT be fixed. There will be no admonition or suspension of fellowship by officers of the church. We thank Dr. Winder for his courage, fidelity to the Gospel and faithful witness.
