Henry VIII: son of Henry VII, beneficiary of Julius 11’s dispensation on 23 Dec 1503, King Henry VIII in 1509, husband to Catherine of Aragon after Arthur dies, father of several still-born children and Princess Mary, Uncle (in-law) to Charles V who sacks Rome in 1527, victim of Papal politics including Clement VII, Wolsey and Campeggio in the Black Friars debacle of 1529, and Commander of Dr. Cranmer to investigate the annulment package. What can the old boy do but follow his King’s command?
