he Elizabethan Settlement: Act of Supremacy and Uniformity, the Prayer Book, the Injunctions, the Book of Homilies, the Articles of Religion and, perhaps, Bishop John Jewel's Apology for the Church of England. This was an almost unprecedented concentration of doctrinal, liturgical and politic-ecclesial power.
