Word on Wednesday: Peter Jensen on Calvinism

Posted by Sophia Akouo, 18 Mar 2015

Former Archbishop of Sydney, Dr Peter Jensen, talks about being a Reformed believer and how biblical Calvinism is. As part of a three-part series (http://www.theologian.org.uk/church/protestantreformedevangelical.html) on Christian identity, Peter Jensen speaks positively in this fascinating talk about being Calvinist in theology. In clear and understandable language, with plenty of humour, he outlines the history of the Reformed tradition and how it is different from Lutheranism. He explains about the Church of England being a Protestant Reformed church according to the Queen’s Coronation Oath. He then looks at the famous acronym TULIP, expounding and defending each of the five points from the Bible and the Thirty-nine Articles against the Arminian alternatives. The talk is just under an hour, and well worth listening to and downloading from here.

Sophia Akouo is an ordinary Anglican churchgoer who enjoys listening to good sermons and talks.
